Strawbees provides a complete solution for developing a powerful skillset for the future through hands-on exploration and working with design, construction, electronics and programming. Our open-ended system creates opportunities for fun and engaging experiences for beginners and experts of all ages.
The Strawbees system differs a bit from conventional teaching methods. Our emphasis is on play and curiosity in the classrooms. We encourage learning by making. We learn the most and the quickest when we have fun, especially when we have fun together. We promote experimenting and asking questions.
FIND YOUR WAY
We learn a great deal when we are forced to think for ourselves, rather than following instructions. Strawbees helps teachers and parents break free from the pattern of knowing it all, let your students and kids be the experts. Our instructions are deliberately simple. The reason is simple too - they are made for you to be creative and think differently. If somebody tells you to build a bridge, build YOUR bridge. Or build something entirely different that makes sense to you.
TRY, MODIFY AND TRY AGAIN
We believe it is important to encourage attempts, rather than focusing on results. Every engineering project is an iterative process. The best way to learn something new is by testing out ideas, building prototypes. The important thing is not the end result, it’s the journey exploration. We encourage everyone to embrace challenges with a great deal of humour, curiosity and courage because we believe that problem solving with a positive attitude fosters immense creativity.
Our history began with the invention of our patented connectors in 2013 and includes awards such as "Forbes & Fast Company educational toy for the problem solvers of the future", and the addition of Quirkbot (our unique circuit board electronics and programming platform) in 2017.
Today, 20 dedicated inventors are working out of our offices in Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden to expand our offer and develop new ways of exploring and learning in cooperation with teachers, parents and makers of all ages in over 50 countries.
